What is this about? Say you are lazy and want to create a simple rules-based filter, where "from contains domain.com" moves a message into a folder called domain... that's what this does.
After generating the files, you will backup msgFilterRules.dat in the Thunderbird preferences folder and add the new mailbox files (which have no extension). When Thunderbird launches it will review these new mailbox files and generate corresponding files.
